Where did it all start?

I'm Martyn, where it all began was when I took my first photo at the age of 4.

It was a family holiday to Windsor Castle and the one memory that still sits with me is the need to take a photograph of a statue. What I remember is fighting my way to the railings to do so with my mum trying to hold me back from getting my head stuck in railings!

I got brought up constantly looking through boxes of old photos that my Gran accumulated over the many years from past family members, she had lived in the same house all of her life and the photos were of family and social events in the small fishing village she grew up in.

I was fascinated with the Weddings, Studio Portraits, the Fishermen and Women, community events, fancy dress processions for the Coronation and so much more..

Its because of this I have a strong connection and passion to become a photographer. Capturing all of these moments and emotions for people to see for generations to come.

But why?

To me being a photographer is a lifestyle, its a lot of hours and all times of the day and night, but when its such a visually and emotionally rewarding job it makes up for it. I get to meet so many amazing people and see some interesting places.

I have been lucky over my career to have met and Photographed Celebrities, Royalty and so many happy couples and their families with their four legged friends too!

Why Studio Photography

Studio Photography is an art in itself, we have to find the light and create it for ourselves. Within this its capturing the moment which happen there and then. There is no waiting for the moments to come to you in a field or on a walk, its here and now.

“We had a family photo shoot with Martyn a couple of months ago and loved the whole experience. We had so many lovely photos to choose from; it was so hard to pick our favourites! Martyn was brilliant with my two little ones and captured their personalities perfectly! We will definitely be back.”
